I'm not sure about all women but the ones I know are pretty consistant about watching sports on television...I am usually reading so the sports event is just background to whatever the book is...the only time I give it my full attention is when hubby is forced to watch it alone...then...
I am actively interested in whatever is going on...speaking to friends I think I'm not the only
sports widow who does this...but, occasionly hubby will watch something with me...dancing with
the stars comes to mind...my parents were dance teachers so I am usually smiling during the whole show...he was not as enthralled...except for the scantily clad women, he found the whole idea repugnant...to his credit...he watched the whole thing...I have become more interested in sports...him not so much... regular television is still not something he is comfortable with.

The Wonderful Day
When my granddaughter was younger she had to write a story about her favorite day...her
most wonderful day...her Mom was working and her sister was at the beach so she came over
with Nana to go in the pool...we played in the water for awhile until it started raining..I thought
she would be so disappointed so when we came in, we decided to make cookies..she did most of
the work and was so pleased with them...as she packed most of them up, she exclaimed that the
day had been wonderful...I wasn't sure she meant it until she claimed it for her story about how
she and her Nana had the most wonderful day...recently she was home sick so I spent the
morning with her until her Mom got back from work..then the three of us went out for lunch.
She said she wished she could have every Monday off..it was almost as good as her most
wonderful day. It was so amazing to me because they travel a great deal and she and her
friends have terrific times but sometimes the simple things make us happy. I know she sure
makes me thrilled to have her and her sister as granddaughters.
